My Story
Bridget Brown is an award-winning video and stop motion creator for everything involving nature and the outdoors.
After working as a videographer for national dance and rodeo competitions, she began traveling the United States as an all-in-one video creator while camping, hiking, and backpacking along the way. During this time she worked in all aspects of video production for countless companies and events including NBC, Mountain Dew, Comic-Con, and Starbucks.
In 2016, Bridget started working for The Alabama Cooperative Extension System. In less than five years she helped the video department grow by 500% and became the Senior Video Producer/Director. During this time she partnered with state and federal agencies through grant-funded projects and worked with specialists to create educational content on forestry, wildlife, agriculture, horticulture, and youth development. Bridget received over a dozen national awards for her work and was asked to speak regularly at events. Her work has appeared on The Outdoor Channel, RFD-TV, and Alabama Public Television.
When she isn’t at work Bridget can be found camping and whitewater kayaking all over the Southeast with her camera close by. She also plays violin and loves to visit new places. Over the past few years Bridget started incorporating stop motion animation into her professional work.
Bridget graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in cinematography and a minor in French. She has continued her education by receiving her Part 107 drone license and taking multiple classes through the School of Motion.
Recognition
The origin of Bridge E Bridge Productions started back in the 90’s in rural Northeast Iowa. These were the days when I’d get out of school early on Fridays for family camping trips, bring vegetables from our family garden to the 4-H county fair, and ride snowmobiles with my sisters once the snow fell.
We didn’t have a computer so my first films were created entirely inside a single miniDV camcorder: the music, editing, special effects, everything. My sisters and I would run around the house all day and then host a premiere for the entire family to watch our masterpiece. My dad would always tell me “Bridgee Bridge, someday you are going to have your own show, the Bridgee Bridge Show.”
Fast forward to 2020. After nine years of climbing the career ladder I found myself sitting at a desk delegating projects and overseeing a video team. I had learned so much and loved the people I worked with, but the longer I stayed the more I felt like I was losing that oomph that made me, me. I was no longer playing an active or creative role in video projects and instead found myself providing support and assistance for everyone else’s.
In the wake of the pandemic I had a chance to step back and assess what was missing. It was pretty simple. I longed to get back to my roots; to the things that fueled my soul. I wanted to be a part of projects that inspired others and I wanted to be outside as much as possible.
By now you can probably see where this is going. In 2021 I decided to take everything I had learned in my career and apply it to everything I loved about being outside. The name for my company was conceived from the childhood nickname my dad gave me when my love for the outdoors and video began. Although it’s not a show (yet), the sentiment has followed me through the years as a reminder that I was capable of achieving something of my own. Something that was me. Bridge E Bridge Productions was created with the mission to create unique, one-of-a-kind content that inspires viewers to get outside and discover the beauty that surrounds us all.
